摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air bag operating device reducible in cost by reducing the number of sensors for detecting impact without lowering accuracy in detecting the impact of a vehicle. SOLUTION: In this air bag operating device, a first sensor for detecting impact applied in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle, a second sensor for detecting impact applied in the lateral direction of the vehicle, an ignition map provided with a first threshold value for developing an air bag at the occurrence of an asymmetric collision and a second threshold value for developing the air bag at the occurrence of a symmetric collision, and an asymmetric collision determining region map for determining an asymmetric collision from the magnitude of impact detection output of the second sensor, are integrally provided in a control circuit for controlling the development of the air bag provided at the vehicle. In the case of determining the asymmetric collision from the impact detection output of the second sensor and the asymmetric collision determining region map, when the impact detection output of the first sensor is less than the second threshold value but not less than the first threshold value, the air bag is developed.
