<p>The invention relates to a method of creating a virtual private network using a public network. The purpose of the invention consists in exchanging data between several computers or multimedia units by means of a public network while guaranteeing the confidentiality of the data. For this purpose, said invention employs a method involving the creation and use of a virtual private network (VPN) consisting of several units which are connected to a public network, each of said units comprising security means that avail of a unique number UA1. The aforementioned method is characterised in that it comprises the following steps: generation of a right D1 which is associated with a unique number UA1 by the security means of unit U1; transferral of said right D1 to the security means of at least one unit U2; encryption of the data sent by unit U1 and the description of right D1 by a first key K1; receipt of the data encrypted by the second unit U2, presentation of said data to the security means of unit U2, verification of whether or not rights D1 are present and affirmative and decryption of the data.</p> |
