<p>A resource is assigned to each of a plurality of distributed, independent hardware resources in a base station, the resource comprising a sequence of radio frequency resources that follow a hopping sequence. Hardware resources are identified that are available to transmit a page via their respective assigned first resource. One of the identified available hardware resources from which to transmit the page is selected to transmit the page via the resource to which the selected hardware resource is assigned. The page is received at a user terminal via the resource; and a page response is transmitted via another resource to the selected hardware resource in response to the page.</p> |
