PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reformer and a fuel cell system able to increase process efficiency to produce hydrogen from a hydrocarbon base fuel. SOLUTION: The reformer is comprised of the first and the second combustion gas columns (41, 42), the third cylindrical combustion gas column (43) with bottom, a fuel nozzle (46) and a combustor (34). The first and the second cylindrical reformer side gas columns (51, 52) are formed between the second combustion gas column (42) and the third combustion gas column (43). The reformer (31) and an evaporator (36) are set at the columns (51, 52). The combustor (34), the reformer (31) and the evaporator (36) are united and their surroundings are covered by an insulating material (60). |
