PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily capture a moving subject by simplifying operation for switching a focus detection area. SOLUTION: The switching amount or the switching speed of the focus detection area is made to differ between when only an area switching operation member is operated and when one or several operation members of the camera other than the area-switching operation member and the area-switching operation member are operated simultaneously. Thus, the focus detection area is switched, while tracking the moving subject whether it is the subject moving at low speed or the subject moving at high speed, whereby the moving subject becomes easy to capture. |
