<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably manufacture steel for porcelain enameling, which has extremely few fish scales and blow flaws, by accurately controlling a dissolved oxygen concentration in a molten steel. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the steel for porcelain enameling, through adding a slag modifier 5 for controlling the dissolved oxygen concentration in the molten steel, into slag 2 on the molten steel 1 which has been decarburized and refined, comprises determining a surplus or deficit amount of oxygen according to the expression (1): Qo=10×([%O]-[%O]e)+(1/450)×((%FeO)-(% FeO)e)Ws...(1), based on a slag amount on a molten steel Ws, the dissolved oxygen concentration [%O] before adding the slag modifier, a FeO concentration (%FeO) in the slag before adding the slag modifier, a desired value [%O]e of the dissolved oxygen concentration, and a FeO concentration (%Fe)e in the slag in equilibrium with a desired value for dissolved oxygen; adding the slag modifier containing an oxygen source when oxygen is deficient; and adding the slag modifier containing Al when oxygen is surplus, to adjust an oxidation degree of the slag, which leads to adjustment of the dissolved oxygen concentration in the molten steel.</p> |
