Pulses are generated periodically in a pipe under pressure (1). The intermediate component (5) or membrane is of elastic and pressure-resistant material, and is subjected to an external pressure (p3). The component can be enclosed by a hollow body (4), connected to a pressure pump and/or exhauster. The incoming pipe section can be box-shaped, while a window is formed in a supporting component connected to it. The window is sealed by an elastic membrane on which the external pressure acts.
