Drive mechanism for window lifter with means for securing the drum in its housing

The drive mechanism comprises a cable winding drum (2) housed in a tank shaped casing (3) having a hole (5) in its bottom (4). Drum driving means are housed in a second casing (11) located on the open face of the first casing. The second casing has a spindle (16) passing through the drum hub (6) with its free end housed in the hole. The drum is held in the first casing when the second casing is detached from the first by an annular row of stop notches (22) in the periphery of a fixed sleeve (20) which extends inside the hub from the hole perimeter and surrounds the spindle. The hub comprises an annular groove (23) in which the set of stop notches are housed.
