APPARATUS FOR PROCESSING OOB PHYSICAL LAYER OF POD MODULE FOR DIGITAL CABLE BROADCAST

PURPOSE: An apparatus for processing OOB(Out Of Band) physical layer of a POD(Point of Deployment) module for digital cable broadcast is provided to generate MPEG-2 transport stream with digital broadcasting data transmitted from a head end and deliver digital terminal subscriber information and MAC message to the head end. CONSTITUTION: A synchronous detector(621) synchronizes digital broadcasting data input from a head end(700). A parallel processing converter(622) receives the digital broadcasting data to convert the digital broadcasting data in unit of 1-bit into data in unit of 8-bit. The first buffer(623) receives the 8-bit digital broadcasting data to change the data rate. A deinterleaver(624) deinterleaves the digital broadcasting data whose data rate has been changed. An RS decoder(630) RS-decodes the deinterleaved data. A derandomizer(660) derandomizes the RS-decoded digital broadcasting data to generate MPEG-2 TS data. An FDC block(620) generates the MPEG-2 TS data from the digital broadcasting data transmitted from the head end to send the MPEG-2 TS data to an upper layer. An RDC block(670) transmits the digital data sent to the upper layer to the head end.
