PURPOSE: A system for transmitting/receiving a mail and a method thereof are provided to transmit and receive important information data through a mail safely and prevent leakage of information by preventing a non-authenticated user from decoding received important information. CONSTITUTION: A security managing server(140) creates a predetermined watermark, inserts the watermark in data to be transmitted, and codes the data having the watermark. A mail server(160) transmits the code data inserted by the watermark transmitted from the security managing server(140) through a mail or a wire/wireless communication network. A mail receiver terminal(200) receives the mail, decodes the coded data having the watermark, and extracts the watermark. The watermark includes information for controlling an output and a reading of the data. In addition, a key managing server(100) is connected to the security managing server(140), and manages/stores a coding key necessary for coding data in the security managing server(140), a decoding key necessary for decoding data in the mail receiver terminal(200), and a user inherent key.
