PURPOSE: A system for providing geographic information using a multi-terminal and a method therefor are provided to retrieve various geographic information in real time by setting a current position and a specific position of a terminal as a retrieval reference point, setting a retrieval radius, setting a specific shop, and retrieving a desired shop within the retrieval radius. CONSTITUTION: A communication network(38) transmits and receives voice data through a PSTN(Public Switched Telephone Network) connected to each multi-terminal, transmits and receives data for data communication through a wired and wireless web network, and performs a protocol matching. A voice input unit(20a) inputs voice data. A card recognizing unit(22) recognizes an inputted card for paying a use charge of the Internet and a voice call. A coin input recognizing unit(24) recognizes whether an inputted coin is abnormal and an amount of the inputted coin. A position data storing unit(40a) stores various programs necessary for a telephone circuit, an Internet communication program, and a data conversion program, and stores position data of previously registered various shops, position data of a corresponding multi-terminal, and a position/distance calculation algorithm. A control unit(42') receives various key input signal, performs a control operation for performing an Internet communication, a video communication, and a voice communication, and performs a control operation for displaying the performed states of the Internet communication, the video communication, and the voice communication. The control unit(42') executes a setup command, retrieves a specific shop, outputs information of the retrieved specific shop on a screen. The control unit(42') performs a control operation so that coupon information of the shop is outputted when connecting a call to a corresponding retrieval object. |
