摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electromagnet with a less core loss, as well as a charged particle irradiation device to mount it. SOLUTION: Respective coil end parts 342, 352 of magnetized coils 34, 35 in an electromagnet 3 are folded to an air gap 36 side so as to respectively cover the tip face of the end part side faces 322, 332 of magnetic poles 32, 33. Further, the electromagnet 3 has an exotherm preventive parts 321, 331 formed by laminating small thin plates of iron type metal in the direction to suppress generation of the eddy current at the position where an exotherm is generated based on the eddy current in these magnetic poles 32, 33. The charged particle irradiation device uses the electromagnet 3 for scanning charged particle beams.
