PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a toroidal-type continuously variable transmission which can improve power transmission efficiency by reducing torque loss caused by oil. SOLUTION: A valve body 51 extending to input/output disks is arranged in the lower direction of cavities 11, 14, which are between 12a, 12b and 13a, 13b of the input/output disks. The first and the second oil discharging parts 55, 56 are provided to a valve body upper 53. The first oil discharging part 55 communicating with the cavity 11 is opposed to a position directly under a lower part region of a circumferential face of the input disk 12a or 13a. The second oil discharging part 56 communicating with the cavity 14 is opposed to the position directly under the lower part region of the circumferential face of the output disk 12b or 13b. The dimension A along in the thickness direction of the both disks of the both oil discharging parts is made larger than the minimum thickness width B of the input /output disks. The toroidal- type continuously variable transmission is characterized in that viscous resistance of oil against the rotating input/output disks is reduced by improving oil discharging performance at the positions directly under the input/output disks and by suppressing accumulation of oil in the nearest vicinity of lower end parts of the input/output disks. |
