<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To calculate the price of a mechanism component only with information (external dimensions, a method of construction, materials and the existence/ nonexistence of coating) obtained intuitively from a component shape. SOLUTION: A server makes terminals 2, 3 and 4 input a characteristic keyword and external dimensions, extracts a corresponding function from a function database 14 based on the inputted characteristic keyword, calculates shape data on the basis of the inputted external dimensions to substitute the calculated shape data for the extracted function and thereby calculates the price of a mechanism component. Furthermore, the server 1 extracts all product unit prices and external dimensions of a mechanism component corresponding to a characteristic keyword being an update object from an item database 13, prepares a function showing the relation between prices and shapes from all of the extracted product unit prices and external dimensions, retrieves a function database 14 on the basis of characteristic information being the update object and replaces the prepared function with the extracted function, when the item database 13 is updated.</p> |
