The seat consists of bases and separate padded backs (3) that are attached to the transverse bars (40, 41) of a frame (4) that can be folded or removed to give increased carrying space in the rear of the vehicle. The padded backs can be detached from the frame, which can be made from tubing with upright members connecting the rear bars. In one variant the bottom bar can be pivoted at the sides of the vehicle so the frame can be folded flat when the top bar fastenings are undone.
