PICTURE CODING METHOD, DECODING METHOD, PICTURE CODER AND DECODER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that it is difficult to generate moving pictures at a high picture quality with a lightened moving picture data stream for a short coding time. SOLUTION: A picture input unit 12 inputs a first and second pictures I1, I2. A matching processor 14 performs a multiple resolution analysis between these pictures to make the pixel matching, and ends the process before the final resolution is reached. A simple processor 30 changes the process to a calculation lighter than the matching and generates corresponding point information at the final resolution.
