PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighting system of a passenger conveyor allowing a user to confirm information such as a location of the passenger conveyor, operation or stopping, and the operation direction, allowing the user to visually confirm that an alighting port is near after boarding the passenger conveyor, and easily usable and further safe for the user. SOLUTION: The lighting system is arranged in an opening part arranged on a plate-like handrail panel of the passenger conveyor. A cover is arranged in the opening part for shielding the illuminating light irradiated to the step side. The illuminating light is radially irradiated along the handrail panel, and is rotated in response to the operation direction and an operation speed of the passenger conveyor.
