PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a line adaptor that selects an optimum routing using a telephone line or a data line contained in a DSL(Digital Subscriber Line) in response to a call from a telephone system or a facsimile machine. SOLUTION: A selection control section 11 of a line selection section 10 analyzes a destination telephone number obtained at a call from a telephone system/facsimile machine on the basis of line state information 15 of a telephone line contained in the DSL, time information 14 denoting a time at a calling point of time and path information 13 so as to select a path providing the least cost routing among paths for using telephone lines or data lines in the DSL. When the path of the telephone line is selected, a changeover selection section 12 connects a telephone line interface 31 to the telephone system/ facsimile machine and when the path of the data line is selected, the changeover connection section 12 connects a data line interface 32 to the telephone system/ facsimile machine via a VoIP(voice over IP) function section 20.
