PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flying object target classifying apparatus capable of classifying a flying object target detected by a radar into a fixed wing aircraft, a rotary wing aircraft or a missile. SOLUTION: The flying object target classifying apparatus for classifying the flying object target of the fixed wing aircraft from the flying object target of the missile or the rotary wing aircraft is equipped with a signal processing part for calculating a target speed, a target speed decision part for comparing the target speed with a predetermined speed threshold and a target classifying part for determining the flying object target to be a fixed wing aircraft on the basis of the comparison result.
