The invention concerns a system designed to enable a plurality of debtor and/or creditor companies (1) to settle their debts (3), to collect their receivables (4). The companies (1) have signed with a clearing entity an adhesion contract (10) granting him power to perform substitution (5) and compensation (6) operations concerning debts (3) and receivables (4). The system comprises: a server (7), connected to a communication network (8); a database (9), connected to the server (7), containing data concerning the debts (3) and the receivables (4). The server (7) comprises: first computing means (14) for selecting debts (3) and receivables (4), fulfilling certain conditions; second computing means (21) for calculating, on the basis of the selected debts (3) and receivables (4), in accordance with an iterative reduction and combination procedure, sequences of ternary chains; third computing means (29) for retrieving (30) data concerning companies forming each sequence of ternary chain.
