METHOD OF ASSAY BY IMMUNOREACTION AND REAGENT FOR USE IN THE IMMUNOREACTION ASSAY

A method of immunologically detecting a substance contained in a sample which includes the step of forming an antigen−antibody complex between the substance to be detected and a substance specifically bonding thereto in the presence of a tricarboxylic acid or a salt thereof under acidic conditions. Also provided is a reagent for use in the method which contains a tricarboxylic acid or a salt thereof. This reagent further contains a substance immunologically bonding specifically to the substance to be detected. The reagent is prepared so that the substance to be detected is bonded to the specifically bonding substance under acidic conditions to thereby form an antigen−antibody complex.
