<p>A magnetic head wherein a slide face (120) for a magnetic tape to slide has a magnetic gap (g) for exchanging information with the magnetic tape, with the track width (Tw) of the magnetic gap (g) regulated by a track width restricting part formed by butting a pair of magnetic core halves (110a, 110b) having track width restricting grooves (111a-111d), respectively, with metal magnetic films (112a-112f) disposed by alignment with the magnetic gap (g) and the track width restricting part, and a groove part (130) formed almost in parallel with the slide direction of the magnetic tape provided in one end part of the magnetic gap (g) shows the relation of the distance L(µm) between a first intersection (P) of one track width restricting groove (111b) formed in one magnetic core half (110a) with one edge of the groove part (130) and a second intersection (Q) of the magnetic gap (g) with the other edge of the groove part (130), L≥11.3 1nI-21.9, to a recording current value I [mA],and prevents demagnetization occurring within a recording track of the magnetic tape.</p> |
