<p>A closure for enclosing a flexible container (11) that may contain any type of product. The closure is composed of a collar element (10) that surrounds the flexible container and can have one of several projections extending therefrom. The open end (13) of the flexible container (11) is compressed by use of an apparatus once a desired product is contained therein. The compressing apparatus contains two mateable die elements (32, 34) that, when engaged with each other, form an annular cavity or socket (24) that surrounds the neck (15) of a flexible container (11). Molten thermoplastic material is then injected via an inlet port to surround the neck (15) of a the flexible container (11) and harden to form a collar.</p> |
