PURPOSE: A frame synchronization apparatus for an ADSL(Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line) system and a method therefor are provided to improve the performance of a system by heightening a sampling clock so that a symbol boundary is accurately determined. CONSTITUTION: A digital FIR(Finite Impulse Response) filter(310) cancels an RF(Radio Frequency) noise component from an inputted signal. A down sampling unit(330) performs a down sampling of an inputted signal. Frame buffer units(320,340) correct the delay of signals inputted from the digital FIR filter(310) and the down sampling unit(330). A TEQ(Time domain Equalizer)(350) trains a signal outputted from the frame buffer unit(340), and determines a frame boundary.
