PURPOSE: A solenoid valve for a brake system is provided to reduce working noise and vibration by preventing rapid fluctuation of hydraulic pressure by the opening and shutting of a valve. CONSTITUTION: A solenoid valve for a brake system includes a valve housing(10), forming a longitudinal through hole(11) and an outlet passage(12); an armature(14), installed inside a valve dome(13) coupled to the valve housing; exciting coils(15), moving the armature; a plunger(16), installed inside the through hole; a valve seat(17), installed inside the through hole so that the valve is opened and shut when the plunger moves back and forth; and returning springs(19), returning the plunger so that an orifice(17a) formed to the valve seat maintains an opened state when power source is not applied to the exciting coil. A cylindrical guide unit(18) is disposed at the end portion of the valve seat adjacent to the plunger, to prevent rapid fluctuation of hydraulic pressure when the orifice is opened and shut by the motion of the plunger. A passage is formed between the outer surface of the plunger and the inner surface of the guide unit.
