FLAT CATHODE RAY TUBE WITH IMPROVED EXPLOSION PROOFNESS

PURPOSE: A flat cathode ray tube is provided to reduce manufacturing procedures and cost by improving explosion proof of a cathode ray tube through the enhancement of structural strength of panel and funnel. CONSTITUTION: A flat cathode ray tube comprises a funnel(30); a flat panel(32) coupled to the funnel, and which has an inner surface on which a phosphor screen is formed; an electron gun mounted in the funnel, and which emits electron beams toward the phosphor screen; a deflection yoke for deflecting electron beams emitted from the electron gun; and a shadow mask mounted on the inner surface of the panel, and which discriminates colors of electron beams emitted from the electron gun. The funnel has a surface to be joined with the panel, wherein the surface has a thickness larger in a central portion(30a) than in a corner portion(30b).
