<p>An exercise machine, comprises a frame having two members 2,3 vertically spaced from one another, with a first member 2 engaging the ground and a second member 3 on which, in use, the operator's body rests and two displaceable arms each with a hand-engaging region 6 at one extremity and each mounted to the first member 2 and engage at their other extremity 10 with the second member 3 so that when the operator grasps the handles 6 and pushes downwards, the members displace as the operator's body is lifted to perform press-ups. Alternatively the second member 3 engages the ground and the first member 2 becomes the member upon which, in use, the operator's body rests, and the arms can be grasped by the operator to perform pull-ups. Further aspects of the invention include the arms being foldable within the envelope of the machine, adjustment of the arms leverage, the members displace telescopically, and the incorporation of corner posts.</p> |
