967,071. Moulding capsules. AMERICAN CYANAMID CO. Jan. 5, 1961 [Jan. 12, 1960], No. 483/61. Heading B5A. [Also in Division B8] Two-colour capsules, e.g. for medicines or other liquids, are formed from two superposed plastic strips 13, 14, of different colour, the strip 14 containing all of the colorants present in both strips whereby the waste material of the composite web 18, after cutting out of the capsules, is re-usable in mixing the plastic composition for the strip 14. The strips 13, 14, may be of gelatine or synthetic resin and in Fig. 1 the strip 13 has a yellow colorant whilst strip 14 has yellow and blue colorants blended to form green. The waste material 18 is returned to the mixing hopper for the strip 14 where, in preparing a fresh plastic composition, allowance is made for the yellow and blue colorants in the returned material 18. A similar arrangement applies to a red colorant for strip 13 and red and yellow blended to orange for strip 14. In Fig. 2 the strips differ in tone and the waste web 18 is returned to the mixing hoppers of both strips for use in fresh mixings of the plastic compositions. Examples given are light and dark red, or reddish violet and bluish violet. |
