METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR LIGHTING STREET LAMP

PURPOSE: A method for lighting a street lamp and a system thereof are disclosed to provide a wind power generator of a low cost by reducing the capacity of an inverter in a power supply system of the street lamp. CONSTITUTION: A wind power generator(11) converts a rotating energy of a propeller into an electric energy. A charge section(15) charges a rectified direct current voltage. An inverter(16) inverts the direct current voltage from the charge section(15) into an alternating current voltage. A switch(13) switches an utility power supply and the alternating current voltage from the inverter(16). A controller(18) switches the switch(13) to connect the utility power supply to a street lamp so that a voltage of the utility power supply is supplied to the street lamp during an initial preheating of the street lamp and the charge section(15) is short of a charge current. The controller(18) switches the switch(13) to connect the inverter(16) to the street lamp when the initial preheating of the street lamp is completed and the charge current is sufficient in the charge section(15).
