PURPOSE: A method of indicating channels of a satellite receiver is provided to display channel information of satellite broadcast received from a satellite, dividing the channel information into charged channels and free channel, to reduce the time required for a user to select a channel and decrease the amount of channel information stored in the satellite receiver. CONSTITUTION: It is determined if charged channel information included in a broadcasting signal is received or not when the broadcasting signal is received from a satellite(S6,S7). Only free channel information is received to form channel information data. The channel information data is displayed to allow a user to confirm the channel information(S12,S13). In the case where broadcasting signals are transmitted from a plurality of satellites, channel information is received from each satellite to form channel information data. The charged channel information is discriminated from the free channel information according to additional character information separately included.
