METHOD FOR DIAGNOSING SAFETY SENSOR FOR AIRBAG

PURPOSE: A safety sensor for an airbag ECU of an automobile is tested in advance to prevent misoperation of the airbag. CONSTITUTION: A lead switch(14) is installed to detect magnetic field and to short a lead pin(13) forming a current pass of an electric circuit. A coil spring(12) makes a magnet compressed to a certain distance in an opposite direction of impact. A perlite magnet(15) forms a magnetic field to short the lead switch having a mass and a magnetic flux. A current flows through the coil spring. If the lead pin is closed by forming magnetic field of the perlite magnet, it is considered normal.
