PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fingerprint collation device which can reduce the frequency of judging non-matching by collation by thinning the feature points of image-picked-up fingerprint data in the case that the image-picked-up fingerprint data are unclear. SOLUTION: The fingerprint collation device is provided with a feature point data selection part 9 for collating the azimuth data and feature point data of a fingerprint with the azimuth data and feature point data of a registered fingerprint when the former data are extracted from a picked-up fingerprint image at the time of fingerprint collation and performing the selection processing of the extracted feature point data in the case that the matching rate of both does not exceed a prescribed threshold. The feature point data selected with the feature point data selection part 9 and the registered feature point data are collated and a collated result is judged as matching in the case that the matching rate exceeds the prescribed threshold.
