SOLUTION: This portable information terminal 1 which has a measuring means 14 is connected to the Internet so that time information can be inputted from an NTP server 3, and that the time matching of the measuring means can be done based on the time information. When the portable information terminal 1 is connected to the Internet for the first time after a power supply voltage is decreased to a prescribed value or less, and then restored to a normal value, this is automatically connected to the NTP server 3 so that the time matching can be executed.
