PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent production of white stripes and to prevent increase in the driving torque while preventing contamination of the base, production of afterimages, image irregularity or the like due to decrease in the toner supply to a developing roller or due to decrease in the electrification of the toner in a developing device in an image forming device. SOLUTION: A single component developer is supplied by a developer supply member 50 to a developer carrying body 25, and the developer is deposited by the developer carrying body to develop a latent image on an image carrying body 12. The developer supply member is rotated in the same direction as the developer carrying body at the contact position (a), with the rotation speed controlled to 0.5 to 0.9 time. It is preferable to control the ASKER-C hardness of the developer supply member to 6 to 15 degrees, that the average cell diameter of the foamed material 52 of the developer supply member is controlled to 100 to 300μm, or that the surface of the developer carrying body is coated with a resin containing a melamine resin or a guanamine resin. |
