<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laser module which maintains weldability of a lens holder and which can improve cutting performance, to improve an optical accuracy by preventing occurrence of a burr, a bar code read accuracy, productivity; and to reduce the product cost. SOLUTION: The laser module for a bar code reader comprises a packaged structure having a light emitting element and a light transmission lens 53. The module converges a light beam emitted from the emitting element via the lens 53 and emits the converged beam to a subject. The module further comprises a cylindrical housing 49 for engaging the element with one end side, and a cylindrical lens holder 51 for holding the lens 53 therein and engaged with other end side of the housing 49. The holder 51 has an inner cylindrical part 57 formed of a metal having good cuttability to hold the lens 53 therein, and an outer cylindrical part 59 engaged with an outer periphery of the part 57 to be integrated with the part 57 and formed of a metal having good weldability for welding an outer periphery to the housing 49.</p> |
