PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a slot radiating element that can compensate mismatch of a waveguide caused by coupling devices. SOLUTION: The slot radiating element is provided in the form of a rectangular waveguide 1 including at least one slot 2 situated in the center of one broad side 4, a rectangular web 3 arranged in the center of the interior surface of the other broad side 9, wherein the slot 2 and the web 3 each extend along the longitudinal direction of the waveguide, coupling devices, particularly a pin 5, arranged in the area of the slot, which excite the slot 2 to emit electromagnetic energy, and compensation devices constructed on the surface of the web 3 facing the slot, which compensation devices compensate the mismatch of the waveguide caused by coupling devices with respect to the generator feeding the waveguide with electromagnetic energy. The compensation devices are constructed such that the web 3 has a step-shaped indentation in the area of the slot 2.
