PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a back surface plate for reflection type color plasma display of which, adhesion strength of a phosphor layer to a separation wall is improved without filling any substance different from phosphor particles between and on the phosphor particles, and to provide a manufacturing method of the back surface plate. SOLUTION: For the back surface plate for reflection type color plasma display having at least an electrode, a separation wall, and a phosphor layer, a ground layer including glass component is formed at least at the part where the phosphor layer contacts with the separation wall. The transition point of the glass component of the ground layer is lower than the transition point of the glass component in the separation wall, and the glass component of the ground layer is closely adhered to the separation wall and the phosphor layer contacting with the ground layer.
