The invention relates to a method for the continuous production of rubber mixes by means of a twin screw extruder, wherein a predefined volume flow of plasticized rubber is fed to the twin screw extruder at a given temperature. The invention is characterized by a combination of the following components: a short screw extruder (5), which is provided with an inlet (7) for the material to be extruded, a gear pump (3), which is connected to the short screw extruder (5) on the inlet side, the outlet of said pump being directly connected to the inlet side of the twin screw extruder (2), and separately controllable drive mechanisms (4; 6) for the gear pump (3) and the short screw extruder (5). |
