PURPOSE: A device and a method for preventing a wrong operation of a video display apparatus are provided to detect a wrong operation of an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) module to control operations of the LCD module, and to inform a user of the wrong operation if the wrong operation is continued. CONSTITUTION: In an interface part(100), a data processor(101) processes inputted R/G/B(Red/Green/Blue) video signals to be displayed on a screen according to a predetermined control signal. A transmitting unit(102) compresses the R/G/B video signals output in the data processor(101), to transmit the compressed R/G/B video signals to a display module(200). A first microcomputer(103) controls power supply of the display module(200) according to signals fed back from the display module(200). A module power switch(104) supplies power to the display module(200) according to a control signal of the first microcomputer(103). In the display module(200), a power switch(202) supplies driving power to each unit according to the power supplied from the interface part(100). A receiving unit(201) restores the compressed R/G/B video signals transmitted from the interface part(100) to video signals capable of being displayed on the screen. A second microcomputer(203) detects an error state of the R/G/B video signals received to the receiving unit(201) or an error state of power supplied from the power switch(202), to feed back error signals to the interface part(100).
