METHODS FOR THE IMMOBILISATION OF COMBUSTION RESIDUES

The invention relates to methods for the immobilisation of solid, liquid and/or paste-like residues from combustion and from the post-combustion exhaust treatment, in particular, from plants for the thermal treatment of waste. According to the invention, the method comprises the following steps: a) separate isolation of residues from differing process steps; b) wet-chemical treatment of the residues not suitable for direct dumping or for production of dumping material, whereby a basic pH is generated in a closed reactor; c) mechanical drainage of the reaction product from the wet-chemical treatment; d) recycling of the filtrate from c) to the wet-chemical treatment in b) with supplementation of the recycled filtrate amounts with effluent or thin slurry, according to the water balance; e) production of dumping material according to a given procedure with addition of residues which are suitable for direct dumping or for production of dumping material, from the combustion and/or from residues and waste from external treatment and production units and f) deposition and storage of the dumping material produced in e) preferably in surface dumps or by filling of subterranean cavities by mining techniques.
