<p>A switching power source apparatus (100) for controlling the switching action of a switching FET (125) which switches the rectification smoothing output of a primary side rectification smoothing circuit (115) with a switching control circuit (130) having a hysteresis low-voltage malfunction preventing circuit. Under no load, the time to drop down to a prescribed voltage which enables the maintenance of a constant voltage by self-discharge is longer than the time up to the operating voltage of the low-voltage malfunction circuit of the primary side switching control circuit. At normal loading, the time to drop down to the prescribed voltage which enables the maintenance of a constant voltage by self-discharge is shorter than the time up to the operating voltage of the low-voltage malfunction circuit.
