PURPOSE: A system and a method for tracking a position of a mail receiver are provided to track the position of the mail receiver in performing the mail confirmation at a web page on the Internet and confirming a received mail by using a mail confirmation program in a local computer. CONSTITUTION: The system comprises a tool forcibly inserting a HTML(HyperText Markup Language) tag transferring the position of a sender to a receiver position tracking server into the sending e-mail, the tool forcibly inserting a Java applet into the sending e-mal, the tool receiving the position information of the sender, the tool informing a mail address or the sender of a return mail by confirming the mail of the receiver, the tool inserting the position information of the receiving into the informing mail, the tool connecting the position information in the informing mail with a WHOIS server and showing it to a user, and the tool linking a result from the WHOIS service with a map service.
