PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide rubber composition for a flexible coupling and a flexible coupling using the same, capable of making especially a structure for a water cut-off portion simpler and thinner than ever before, while ensuring sufficient rigidity. SOLUTION: This rubber composition is obtained by blending 5 to 25 pts.wt. of short fiber having an average short length <1000μm per 100 pts.wt. of base rubber. In this flexible coupling 1, at least one portion of the water cut-off portion 10 which is applied to outer surface sides of one pair of structures 2, 2, while straddling its joint 20 to make water cut-off, is made of the rubber composition.
