PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a discoloration inhibitor which effectively prevents the discoloration of aluminum or an aluminum alloy generated on working and cleaning and in the period of leaving as it is after working and cleaning. SOLUTION: This aqueous discoloration inhibitor for aluminum or an aluminum alloy contains the alkali metal salt and/or amine salt of a dibasic acid expressed by HOOC-A-COOH (wherein, A denotes an alkylene group having a 13 to 25C main chain).
