PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a parting member for ventilating an eave soffit in a house or the like, which prevents hot air from propagating to the rear side of the eave soffit in case of a fire, to thereby prevent the fire from a neighboring house from spreading to the house concerned. SOLUTION: The parting member 1 has a groove portion 8 at one side edge thereof, into which an edge of an eave soffit board 11 is fitted. Then, a fire- resisting heat-expanding member 9 is attached to the bottom of the groove portion 8. When there is fire, the heat-expanding member 9 is expanded due to the heat of the fire, and a gap between the groove portion 8 and the eave soffit board 11 is blocked, to thereby prevent hot air from propagating to the rear side of the eaves soffit board. |
