PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic focusing detector which can be substituted for a multi-division photometric device. SOLUTION: The automatic focusing detector is provided with a plurality of optoelectric conversion means 2b, which are provided in correspondence with a plurality of focus detection areas set in a photographic image, an operation member 17 which selects an arbitrary focus detection region out of the focus detection regions, and an arithmetic means 14 which calculates the focusing state of a photographic lens 1, on the basis of the output of the optoelectric conversion means 2b, corresponding to the focus detection region selected by the operation member 17. The optoelectric conversion means, corresponding to focus detection regions which are not selected by the operation member 17 are operated, and an exposure value is calculated, on the basis of the output of the optoelectric conversion means 2b, corresponding to the focus detection area selected by the operation member 17 and the outputs of the optoelectric conversion means 2b, corresponding to the focus detection regions which are not selected by the operation member 17. |
