PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control torque capacity in the continuously variable transmission in accordance with a temporary disturbance factor on a road for preventing damage and reduction in durability in a continuously variable transmission. SOLUTION: This controller for the vehicle having the continuously variable transmission capable of changing torque capacity is provided with a position detection means detecting a position of its own vehicle, a road information storage means storing information about a road, a torque capacity control means (steps S3, S7, and S10) controlling the torque capacity on the basis of the information stored in the road information storage means and related to the road in front of the own vehicle detected by the position detection means, and a road information updating means (steps S11 and S16) updating the information about the road stored in the road information storage means. |
