PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a polyester carbonate, above all, by the melt transesterification method in the production of the polyester carbonate which increases ester bonds as much as possible and further decreases an acidic or acid anhydride structure as much as possible on the one hand, and has good self color on the other hand. SOLUTION: The method for producing a polyester carbonate by the transesterification of a diaryl carbonate with a dihyroxy compound and a dicarboxylic acid comprises conducting condensation in the presence of a quaternary onium compound as the catalyst provided that the carboxylic acid is added only after the oligocondensation of the dihyroxy compound, and the temperature does not exceed 290 deg.C. |
