PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for polyarylene sulfide production in which particle diameters of precipitated polymer particles are enlarged and a particle size distribution is uniform so that filtration is efficiently carried out in a filtration process in which the polymer porticles are precipitated from products obtained by a polymerization reaction and by-products are separated and removed. SOLUTION: In this method for polyarylene sulfide production, condensation polymerization of a sulfide and a dihalogen-containing aromatic compound is carried out with stirring in an organic solvent. The stirring power of a blade in the process is 0.2-1.0 kW/m<3> . |
