PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fiber with a ferrule which can prevent a film of resin from being formed on the surface of the ferrule when the ferrule is molded, an optical module, and a manufacturing method for the optical module. SOLUTION: The optical module has the ferrule 11, an optical fiber 14 which is inserted into the ferrule, an optical communication function part which has optical communication with the optical fiber 14, and a resin molding part 13 which covers part of the ferrule 11 and the optical communication function part. One or more recessed parts (recessed groove 12) are provided where the ferrule is exposed at the resin molding part. When the ferrule is molded out of the resin, the recessed parts serve to collect the resin and then a film of resin is prevented from being formed on the ferrule surface. |
